Job Summary:

Qualified Accountant required for medium sized company in the insurance sector: The Company has recently been acquired by a very large insurance company which operates within the UK market and globally.

Job Description:

To produce the monthly management accounts to local & NY management team.
To prepare quartely accounts package for Head Office NY.
To complete all local statutory reporting requirements including statutory accounts, vat returns and corporation tax.
To candidate will be required to ensure all controls & procedures satisfy SOX compliance with internal & external audit sign off.
To prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis to AIG SOX standard.
Other adhoc tasks including day to day activities within the Finance Department as the Company is a small organisation without a full administration service.

Skills and Knowledge:

Qualified Accountant either A.C.C.A , A.C.A. or A.C.M.A ( or equivalent)
At least two years post qualification work required.
2.2 Honours degree required( or equivalent)
Excel skills to at least intermediate level.
To have extensive knowledge of UK GAAP to enable completion of local statutory accounts submission to Companies House.
The ultimate owner of the Company is AIG Inc and thus a working knowledge of US GAAP will be an advantage, though not essential.
To have worked in the Financial Services Sector will be an advantage but not essential
The Accounting software is currently produced on Sage, thus previous experience of Sage will be an advantage.
